baby noises

As promised, it seems that we’ve finally taught Emrick a trick, and I managed to catch one of his performances on video.  He will pretty consistently smile and say ‘oh’ if you make eye contact, smile and talk to him. He doesn’t smile too much in this clip but he does talk to me a bit.  You’ll also see that Shona has done a good job of teaching him to stick out his tongue.

What he’s trying to get out is “Oh Kelly, I really wish you’d come give me kisses!”

I think the reason for the tongue is that he has figured out that the tongue is essential to talking and is working on it. It’s a good thing I already have a ticket, otherwise I would have had to camp out at the airport until I got one. See you this afternoon.

Shona does this thing where she flicks her tongue in and out of her mouth while making noise. It looks like some sort of alien mating call. I’m convinced that he’s now trying to duplicate that to say hi, but perhaps he is just getting a feel for his tongue.

Alien mating call… that’s how I got you to marry me, Babe.

I have watched this a couple of times every day and it never ceases to bring a smile to my face….especially that bristly beardy kiss at the end….

Too Cute! And I continue to love his hair. I am a Third Cousin from Texas, I hope it is not a Great Great Third Cousin, as I have lost track…I am your Mother’s Niece.

Hi, Lesley. I know who you are :). You’re my great Aunt Dorothy’s daughter, and Cinda’s cousin!
