Well, we got back from the Hearst Castle tour at about 4:00 PM. It was just up the road, and we went to the 10:00 Tour #1, had lunch, then went to the 2:00 Tour #2. It’s a castle made mostly of reinforced concrete dressed up with stone and imported works in a Spanish/Mediterranean style. The scale of the facility is of course large, but the really impressive thing about the place is the collection of the valuable antiquities that have been collected and displayed. 5000 year old egyptian statues, Greek marble statues, Roman tile mosaics, old ceilings and woodwork from Spain, it’s all pretty amazing.
