I just heard from the doctor’s office, and the verdict is in: Pookie suffers from Awesome Baby Syndrome.
In layman’s terms, this means that Emrick’s bloodwork and x-rays came back normal. He has no growth hormone or thyroid problems, and there is “no evidence” at this point that he has hypochondroplasia. He’s just proportioned like a Pookie Bear is all!

yay pookie! I KNEW it was all good!
Gotta love it! This is a nonsense sentence to make my comment long enough for your satisfaction.
I’m heading for a celebratory glass of wine! It looks like Emrick celebrated with carrots…..? I’m impressed that the Dr. got back to you so quickly and you must be a little relieved even though we all knew he was BETTER than normal.
I concur…..Awesome Baby Syndrome sounds like the perfect diagnosis….so glad things came out ok….just love every inch of the awesome pookiness

Well don’t be TOO impressed, Mom. I actually called them and left a message, and one of the nurses called me back a couple of hours later. I called them because I realized yesterday that the doctor had never said, and I had never asked, when or how I would hear the results. Would they call me? Should I call them? I know that with some blood work, doctors don’t call you unless there is a problem, and if you hear nothing, that means there IS nothing. But I didn’t want to just assume that this was a “no news is good news” situation, so I went ahead and gave them a call. I have no idea when or if they would have called me otherwise.
I’m a few days behind on blog- happenings – just now reading the news- and am glad you’re pookie is awesome!
Never doubted for a minute he was A OK! Sorry you guys had to go through drama. Enjoy the Pook!
