Birthday!!

Today was my 29th birthday.  It rained most of the day, but I didn’t mind, in fact I tend to like rain.  I didn’t go in to work, just did a few errands and relaxed for the most part. My wonderful wife baked me a birthday cake before she left for work in the morning, and then frosted it when she came home.  As far as gifts I’ve gotten three outfits, a nice winter coat, and a video game (Fallout 3).

We went out and got a pizza this evening, then came back and watched a movie (The Happening) while we ate.  The film had a good enough premise, but the execution was a bit lacking.  Still, it was worth the dollar rental we paid.  After the movie we ate the cake and ice cream, then my mother called to wish me a happy birthday.  I also checked my work e-mail and found a bunch of birthday greetings, which my boss started by sending out an e-mail to the whole department, teasing me that it was my 21st birthday, that I had finally grown up.

In all, a memorable birthday.

Just checked the blog and found out that Marcus
had a birthday, so now I know the date and will
be able to send a card next time.

Well, If had known this in advance, I would have baked you a real cake. And I want to know when birthdays became a holiday to take off work. You are a slacker! Your boss may have sent you a funny e-mail, but you realize this is going on your “PERMANENT RECORD”

    Seroiusly though, happy belated birthday!

Well, when I’m feeling like a slacker I prefer to take the day off, instead of you know, say feigning my own death under a fallen light fixture.

Besides, my birthday will be a holiday… someday. 😉

You BOTH had more fun this week than you deserved. How’s that? 🙂

A “real” cake? That cake I baked was smurf blue on the inside, chocolate on the outside, and awesome all over.

I’m about 95% sure that Mom asked me a couple of months ago when Marcus’ birthday was. Needless to say, expectations for next year’s card (Mom?) and birthday cake (Sam?) are now *extremely* high…

Your birthday is ALREADY a holiday…you were born on the Marine Corp Birthday. Your father was really proud that day because he had a little marine.

  1. Whenever I think of ‘outfits’ I think of girl clothes. So when you show up wearing a skirt at work I won’t think any less of you, after all it was a gift 😉

    Marine Corps birthday…now that’s cool!

2shay Marcus, lol. Good response. ANd Shona is probably right. I know I had more fun than I deserved. But see, if I was needed, I could have dragged myself to my desk. What could you have done? Shona, it really did look like a lovely cake. And to know it was smurf blue on the inside…well words just can’t describe how I fell about that.

On another subject, I hope you guys have a wonderful first thanksgiving together and a great visit with the folks!
