A Halloween Story

Hey, Mom! Isn't Halloween coming up soon? Yay for candy!

But, but, what do you mean I'm too young for trick-or-treating? And how is anyone going to see the cool Halloween jammies Grandma Merlyn gave me?

Aw come on. Look at this face. I'll bet I can charm you into letting me go...

No? Ho hum. I guess I'll just hang around here and mope.

No, wait! I've got a plan! I'm going to go find where Mom is hiding the Halloween candy! I'm outta here...

Look! I'm escaping! I'm scaling the sofa! I'm going AWOL! That candy will be in my hot little hands in no time!

D'oh! Daddy caught me! How will I get any candy now?

Hehe. When Plan A doesn't work, Plan B is always to look cute so as to distract the parents. Um... Hey, Mom and Dad! Ga ga Goo goo!

Tee hee, it worked! I found the Halloween candy stash! What the heck is a Kit Kat?

Oh no. I feel kind of bad for being bad...

Nevermind. If I'm too young to trick-or-treat, then I am certainly too young to know what guilt feels like. Look! My tongue!

Candy? Prepare to be eaten!

Ah... Sugary satisfaction at last. The End.

Stay tuned for deleted scenes and the blooper reel from A Halloween Story.

You MUST do a book! This is soooo adorable and clever. I have forwarded it to almost everyone I know. It makes up for the wait between posts. Keep ’em coming.

I’m a friend of your Mom’s. She’s right — you MUST do a book. Emerick always brings a smile to my face. He’s definitely a charmer!

What is going on? It’s the day before Halloween and we don’t have the next chapter! You can’t do this to us! The mental health of the masses is in your hands Shona… we’re counting on you. But no pressure. 😀

Happy Halloween and Congrats on a beautiful baby. I would also like to give you kudos for your photography. I think not only could you be an author but a photographer supreme. I am Grandma Cinda’s first cousin, Great Grandma Betty’s niece. I think his hair looks like his uncle Eric’s must have looked!

Thanks for commenting, Lesley! Maybe Uncle Eric should submit a baby photo for comparison 🙂
