Look Who’s Exersaucing!

IMG_0605

A few days ago, I retrieved Emrick’s old “Exersaucer” from the basement storage room for Holly. I found some old pictures of Emrick using it when he was about Holly’s age, so I decided to go ahead and see if she was into it. It took a bit of preparation to get it Holly-ready: First I detached all the toys and ran them through the dishwasher. Then I laundered the fabric seat insert. And after that, I wiped down the saucer three times — first with soapy water, then with disinfectant, and then finally a rinsing wipe with just water.  Now, less than 48 hours later, it has a nice glaze of Holly spit-up as the finishing touch.

But the important issue is whether or not she likes it. She does! Right now, she can only deal with it for about 10-15 minutes at a time, but Emrick was the same way when he was first introduced. By the time he was six months old, he could be entertained by it for up to 30-45 minutes. So here’s hoping the same will be true for Holly. My arms need a break…

Isn’t it awesome? It’s the result of her getting a bath right before bed, I think.

This is a priceless picture and worthy of a photo contest for sure! Current tradition for seniors graduating from high school is for parents to submit a baby picture of their student to be flashed on a large screen along with their graduation picture. These slide shows are evident at various senior celebration gatherings and creates howls of laughter from parents and embarrassments for the students…..I vote this one for Miss Holly! She’ll forgive you eventually! LOL\

Nothing can tame those locks! (Actually, this was a morning pic. By evening, her hair has usually become flattened by spit up and baby grease).

This is indeed adorable. I just noticed your blog categories (Pookies….. and Pookies… and Holly’s…). I think Holly needs a nickname.
