On Thursday morning, the sun was shining and the beach was calling.
So after taking a picture of the ocean from the balcony, I sent Pookie inside to be swim trunked and sunblocked.
And then we headed down to the sand.
The beach looked beachy.
The water looked watery.
The condo building looked big.
And Pookie looked confused.
But with a little guidance, Pookie got comfortable and acquainted himself with Jacksonville Beach.
He watched his toes mush into the sand.
He picked up seashells.
He may have tried to eat some sand.
And he ventured into the ocean with Daddy.
And while that was happening, we may have seen Grandpa Ed spying on us from the balcony.
Pookie dug into the sand.
Then he sat down and really got busy.
Emrick wasn’t the only one taking in the beach that day. Our condo unit contained a few boogie boards, and some of the boys were eager to give them a whirl. But D’oh! We forgot to bring them down to the beach with us. Knowing that Grandpa Ed was on the balcony, however, Chris took control of the situation, and carved a message into the sand…
… in 3-inch letters.
It worked, though! Like magic, several boogie boards spontaneously appeared in our possession! Marcus tried out one of them.
So did Chris and Nick.
Not pictured is me lying on the beach next to Sam and one of us isn’t wearing sunscreen.
Then we all came inside and showered and dressed, and Pookie wrote about his adventures in Grandpa’s planner.
The End.

Looks like Pookie made himself right at home at the beach…What adventures he has had in Florida…can’t wait for the continuing episodes!
Who wasn’t wearing sunscreen? And who suggested to the other that she put on sunscreen? And why is the narrative so short this time? What’s going on over there?

Short narrative? But it’s 50 pictures long!!!
He does look right at home here on the beach (:
The pictures are great as usual. But I always like the story that gets told.
This vacation would’ve been perfect with a drive-by through northern Kentucky. 🙂

If KY even so much as shared a border with FL, we totally would have done that! Maybe next time 🙂
