Emrick’s Third Haircut, Part 2

After Emrick’s haircut, we gave him a bath. Here he is, all washed and jammied up!

So intense!

Next, we headed to the playroom for walking practice and play time!

~muah!~ I love you, orangespikeyball!

Next, Marcus walked Emrick down the hall, toward the home office.

Emrick still does most of his walking holding on to walls and furniture.

Look how shiny and light his hair looks now.

Cutie.

omg. Cheeks!

Next, you will see that Marcus is holding two door stops in his hands. We took them off the baseboards in the playroom because Emrick plays with them and then pulls them off, and we don’t want him sticking one down his throat when we aren’t looking!

It's a unique baby that can be lured with doorstops 😉

GIMME!!

Oh yeeeeah!

Show me what to do with my doorstop, Daddy!

Never mind, I'll just put it in my mouth...

Hey. You took back my doorstop 🙁

I'll take that back now, please!

After this we put the doorstops back on and decided to just watch him carefully if he crawls over to one of the stops to play with it. We would have left the stops off, but the door handle on the playroom door has made a small dent in the wall (Emrick likes to play with open doors as well!) so we need those stops! Yesterday I watched as he repeatedly grabbed/struck the coiled doorstop to watch and hear it vibrate, and somehow, it did not come off of the baseboard. So hopefully we can leave them on for now, and Emrick can continue to enjoy their sweet, sweet music 🙂

I want to know WHO cut this child’s hair????? ……..
    He is absolutely so squeezable!

Never mind..I went to Part 1 of this haircut and see that while Marcus has many talents, maybe it’s a good thing he didn’t go into barbering! No matter. Emerick is so cute in any form!
Just checking in on Marcus’ sense of humor! ( Shona, get those sheers and scissors away from him NOW)

Practice makes perfect! maybe he should put it in a mohawk now that it is short…after all , you have already done some weird hair styles to him already!

Take the scissors from Marcus? No way! I think Emrick looks ADORABLE with that short hair. Just like a little boy! If there are any imperfections in the haircut, it is not Marcus’ fault. It is extremely hard (impossible, actually) to get Emrick to hold still for more than a second at a time. On top of that, Emrick inherited my cowlicks! So he is doomed to weird hair, I am afraid!

But if anyone else misses his scraggly locks, no worry. It will be a scraggly mess again by the time he is a year old, I am sure. Of course, it will just have to be cut again then, since we plan on having professional portraits done when he turns one.

WOW! 4 posts this week! I love it. Marcus did a fabulous job on the haircut. And I love Emrick’s expressions in part 1. P.S. I hope that you and Marcus will be in some of those professional portraits.

Super cute monkey jammies with emrick inside them makes my heart tingle!!! 😉 thanks for all the posts!

Hmm, so apparently that “Honorary Official Barber’s License” that I bought online for $10 didn’t imbue me with the “mad barber skills” that it promised. Oh well. I take this to mean that I’m being invited to fly down and practice on Janet before trying my clippers out on Emrick again. Sounds like a great plan, although if Sam backs her up that might be a shorter trip.

For what it’s worth, it is at least a nice and even cut, despite being short and his hair wanting to point in different directions. It will grow out!!

Hehe, Yeah if Sam backs her up, you’ll need to take your clippers to Ohio, too! I say we give both Janet and Sam the Emrick Deluxe Hair-Do!

    Kellie, he IS a heart-tingler, isn’t he?!

For the record, cow licks and all I think Emricks hair looks SUPER! And Shona regardless of the length of his hair my mom has always said that is one baby that there is no mistaking he is all boy. And I agree! One perfect, squishy, kissy, squeezee little boy! lol

Not that you need another feather in your already overloaded cap Marcus; but I like the haircut too and take it as a personal compliment 🙂

    • Janet Sykes on July 10, 2011 at 9:22 am

I have less hair than Emrick! HAHA

    • Sam on July 10, 2011 at 5:05 pm

It does not take much to operate the clippers. I should know. I cut the boys hair with them every few months for several years. The buzz cut looks so cute on them when they are little and Emrick is no exception. I think you paid $10 too much for that license Marcus! Not necessary. BTW, if I thought I could pull it off, I would buzz my head too!

Sam, I’m not sure I know where you are coming from…..I did say Emrick is adorable…..it was Marcus’ barbering skills in question. I think they’re going to Ohio first!

Well, I think the important thing here is that we can ALL agree on two things:

    1. Marcus is not a professional barber (thank goodness ;))

    and

    2. Emrick’s cuteness is so powerful that no haircut in the world can ruin it! 🙂

    • Samantha on July 12, 2011 at 11:48 am

True to one and two. My statement was just a personal opinion about Em’s hair. Not in response to any particular comment, other than Marcus getting ripped out of $10.

You guys are so much fun!
