Laundry Room Update + Pookie

Marcus has been making great progress on the laundry room. Here are some pics from the past few weeks.

Instead of drywalling up the entire loft opening, we’ve decided to put three decorative windows there. So Marcus framed out the window openings. Here he is, looking like a very hopeful Rapunzel.
Here’s the inside of the laundry room. The big wooden box thing is a big pedestal Marcus is building for our front-loading washer/dryer (which Marcus has had since before we were married). No more (or at least reduced!) bending over!

The mess of construction.
Marcus preps for paint.
The first coat of “Nomadic Desert” has been applied. This is a new batch, so hopefully it will still blend well with the stuff the builder applied two years ago.

The first coat of paint on the inside has been applied. It’s hard to tell from the pic, but it’s a light blue. We’re unsure if we like it.

So that’s the progress made on the laundry room. Today we need to decide if the second coat of paint will still be “Bounty” or if we want to go with something with more green in it. Later this week, the tile goes in. Marcus is working like a dog!

And, since I know that posts without Pookie pics are unacceptable, here a couple of shots from the last few days.

Emrick takes a snooze in Daddy's drywall mud-encrusted arms.

I put some kitchen chairs in the family room in an attempt to confine Emrick to that area. He responded by whimpering, and then giving the chair rung a good licking!

Looking good! That bending over jazz is for the birds. Emrick looks adorable. You need to send me some of the really cute ones I can post and brag about on FB.

Your super directionally challenged mother is still trying to figure out where this is exactly, but you are doing an amazing job. You remember I had the theater room in your old house all turned around until I actually saw it…so that means I must make a trip down there when it is done to see it in person….but most of all to see that amazingly beautiful child!!

Merlyn, if you look at the sixth picture down, you can see a bedroom in the background. There’s a TV mounted on the wall under three square windows. That’s the room you usually stay in when you’re here, so maybe seeing that pic will give you some perspective.

Also, those three rectangular windows that Marcus is looking out of used to be one big rectangle, visible from the family room.

I had eventually figured that out, but I could’t imagine the laundry room being underneath the landing on top…it was very confusing to me….I’m sure it will all make sense once I see it…so the desk that was just outside that space is now gone…right??

Samantha, you should be able to save any picture to your computer directly from the blog, by right clicking on it and selecting “Save Image As”. I would recommend LEFT clicking on the image first, which will reveal the full-sized image, and then save THAT one. Saving the full-size image will allow you to resize them however you want without having to worry about grainiess/blurriness.

Oh, and yes, Merlyn, that’s right! 🙂
